Well, I fell for Harry. I have never loved any piece of literature as much as I love Harry Potter. I read the entire series from late May-June, without stopping for a second. I even re-read the final three, just to soak it in, again!
My dream is to teach some of the Harry Potter series and then (drumroll, please) go on a field trip to THE WIZARDING WORLD OF HARRY POTTER! I watched the opening ceremony and cried my eyes out. I wanted to be there so bad!
Can you imagine anything better? I can taste the Butterbeer.... sigh.

Haha, well from what I hear, some of the NCTE people are going to be going there. Maybe you should come!
ReplyDeleteAww..lol. I read the entire series for the first time a few years ago and felt the same way you do!! I'm still just a little obsessed...lol. Anyway, when we're in Orlando my boyfriend, friends and I are going to the theme park and I can't wait! I'll make sure to take lots of pics for you! :)
ReplyDeleteThis is exactly the type of excitement we want to get into students. Can you imagine how awesome it would be to really have the opportunity to take a group of students to do something like this? It would be amazing. Let's start a petition to get the Harry Potter series in the literary canon!!!
ReplyDeleteI have to admit that I am a bit of a cheater when it comes to Harry Potter! I have only read the first three books, however, have watched every single movie. Once my roommates and I sat down and watched every single movie on our "lazy Sunday" and it was awesome. I think that the stories are a great read for those who usually don't get into books.
ReplyDeleteI will say that I am this passionate about a series Suzanne Collins has written, The Hunger Games. I re-read the first two books this summer, and am currently halfway through the third and final book. The internet has told me that Lionsgate has bought the rights to the movie and I absolutely can't wait. The link below is an article that was done about Suzanne recently which I found to be an awesome story about her rise to fame.

Thanks, Kevin! I really do have every intention of reading "The Hunger Games" when I get a chance! Hopefully over our Christmas break!
